How many episodes are in The Last of Us TV Season 1?

HBO’s Season 1 of The Last of Us is nine episodes long. Starting January 15, all episodes will appear on HBO Max on Sundays at 8 PM and be streamable at any time afterward. The finale will first become available on March 12.

This lengthy runtime isn’t necessarily an uncommon occurrence since the first episode is used to set up everything that comes after. It introduces you to the world and characters and establishes what is happening. The finale could be nearly half the runtime of the pilot, so things likely will move very quickly.
