Cathedral of the Rockies cancels in-person worship through rest of 2020
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — "It's shocking, even to me. It breaks my heart to say stay home, don't come to our building," said lead pastor Duane Anders.
Cathedral of the Rockies administrators has canceled in-person worship for the rest of the year.
The lead pastor says the decision wasn't an easy one.
But at the end of the day, he says putting the congregation and the entire church family's safety comes first.
"Right now this feels devastating to most of us. The truth is, in three years or five years or ten years, we will look back and remember this differently and so we're all gonna grow, we're all gonna learn, we're all gonna do things differently and the key is can we love our neighbor? And we believe the best way to love our neighbor is to wear that mask, wash your hands, stay home worship online," Anders said.
The church has moved all of its programs online including Sunday worship, small groups and even most of their mission work.
