white spots on display. what are they?

Yes they show up from the moment the screen turns on, they never appear to go away and the only time I can't see them is when that portion of the screen is a darker color, like blues, black, greys, etc. On lighter colors they are noticeable and on bright white is when I see them fully.As far as the screen is concerned, its free of any damage externally. I've tried to press on the back of the phone to see if they would move or change position but nothing seems to move. I haven't pushed hard on the screen ever so I can't see that being a problem. Could it be moisture from being in a cold car for a few days? It was in my backpack in the trunk if my car for roughly a week in sub freezing temps overnight...
